The Manifesto of the Fundraiser, what do you think?

Data: October 15, 2007

I wanted to summarize in few words the experience accumulated during these years of consulting and training, I wanted to say what to me is the fundraiser, all in ten short points.

This is all in the manifesto of the Fundraiser. What do you think? Leave your comments on this blog or the blog / news of the Master in Fund Raising .

The fundraiser is:

  1. an educator, not a seller.
  2. a facilitator capable and willing to involve others, not a lone hero.
  3. someone who gives people the opportunity to have an impact on reality, not a seller who demands aggressive money.
  4. a passionate professional who wants to make a difference with their work and their lives, not someone who works for the sole purpose of paying later this month.
  5. a strong supporter of the principles of ethical fund raising, not a professional eager to do anything to achieve the goals it has set itself.
  6. always eager to learn, that never escapes the confrontation with the new tools and new technologies.
  7. is a pro-active, he loves solving problems, not just identify them.
  8. is an effective communicator, whether in writing or in person.
  9. is a knowledge of the principles of fundraising, he knows that there is no cause so special, so those principles can not be applied.
  10. is aware that success depends much more on the vision of himself and of his role from all the other variables.

If Red is said that the fundraiser and 'serving the mission, then I would change the tenth point in
"The fundraiser and 'aware of itself, its strengths and weaknesses, but above' mission by supporting highly motivated."

Bibi sends me a comment that I am attaching below. It 'interesting to the debate on svilupapre Manifesto fundraiser who wants to be something dynamic, not static, that is changing thanks to your comments and viewpoints or opinions.
Here is the comment that Bibi has emailed me.

    Hello Melandri,

I read the manifesto. I share it in its general form. I would, on tiptoe, a number of viewpoints.
I note perhaps some redundancy between the points 4 6 and 7. maybe add the word | | lay | | a "teacher" to "temper" and prevent any drift "too pedagociche" of who 'thinks he's teaching right for the next. If secular 'word is too loaded with connotations I would use other word or turn of phrase that calls to secularism, however, as briefly described here http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laicita

Finally, would find a way to put what in my opinion, and 'an important aspect of fundraising, and therefore requires awareness on the part of those who promote these activities: the construction of social relations. find resources and 'mere transfer of money from one account to another, but also the construction of stable social relationships and hopefully lasting.

    what do you think?

    with estimates

    a handshake
