Ioana Fumagalli Amref Blog Diary Fundraiser has begun to talk about fundraising in times of crisis and specifically corporate fundraising. I realized the other day to talk to someone who asked me:
In your opinion which of the following two options is better to channel donations?
- be simple and apart from the postal c / c to access the other channels show only a link to the site and the name and telephone number of someone (ie mine)
- immediately be exhaustive: print on the back of the wing all the other options in addition to c / c postale: bank, authorized to levy by credit card, with a request to rid the error amounts etc.
These are my answers:
- when one spends the money and buy without thinking, when no one has them, wants to make one thousand thousand explanations and comparisons before deciding to spend and that's why in fundraising in times of crisis we must lengthen the stock and explain explain explain much, make people understand, repeat things, give reason for each claim. Long-short is worse, but as always, you must test and see how it works I'd recommend something always well explained and well told, especially in this historical moment
- in the letter there is no 'explicit request (how much money and ask for what h) there is no' good cause well specified and well said. (300 euros per month for 10 months to support the project / people, etc ...)
- I have tests that tell me in advanced classes not put too many choices is confusing because the donations decrease, does not seem the case of people of your current donors so I would put all the choices in a wing attached.
