Fumagalli Ioana Amref Blog Diary Fundraiser has begun to talk about fundraising in times of crisis, and specifically corporate fundraising. I realized the other day to talk to someone who asked me:
In your experience which of the following two options is better to channel donations?
- be simple and in addition to postal giro account to access the other channels show only the link to the site and the name and telephone number of someone (ie mine)
- immediately be exhaustive: print on the back fin all other options as well as c / PO: bank, permission to levy the credit card request with rid suggestion amounts etc..
These are my answers:
- when one spends the money and buy without thinking, when no one has them, wants ago one thousand thousand explanations and comparisons before deciding to spend and that's why in fundraising in times of crisis we must lengthen the stock and explain explain explain much, make people understand, repeat things, give reason for each claim. Long-short is worse, but as always, we must test and see how I always recommend something well explained and well said, especially at this time
- in the letter there is no 'explicit request (how much money and ask for what h) there is no' good cause well specified and well known. (300 per month for 10 months to support the project / people, etc. ...)
- I have tests that tell me that in less advanced classes put too many choices is confusing because donations decline, does not seem the case with people of your existing donors and then I would put all the choices in a flap attached.
