November 11, 2009 Castrocaro is becoming more and more 'the place of fundraising. Already 'the second edition of the CAF Executive Management and Decision Making , a co-production " Central Ethics - Philanthropy Centro Studi "for the University of Bologna. It 'a practical course and operative week intensive that combines business (the course) with the enjoyable, (a week of spa and wellness including) ... Here are some pictures of as many as 21 participants! And from them I expect a comment!
CAF Executive - We are working!
June 22, 2009 At the last training course I had the pleasure of having a student in class "deaf" (or say deaf?). I am particularly impressed. It is Camillo Galluccio (photo with me), chairman of the National Deaf. People attentive, desirous of discovering the fundraising that has realized that with public funds can not do everything that you should fare.Dpo have met people like him more and more I realize that some disability exists and you can not pretend than nothing, but if you engage all you can really make sure that the deaf can do everything except hear.
But in general I must say that the last class of the AFC (photo while applauding "the manner" of the deaf) that has just begun is truly remarkable. In my first lesson on Friday and Saturday I had 50 maybe 100 questions. There was a constant. And, I must admit, there is no 'greater pleasure for a trainer to receive a lot of good questions. Master classes are not always so eager to find out what the fundraising, how to apply it in practice, often by the trainer tries a solution, a prescription, a cure to soothe all the problems of fund raising for a nonprofit organization ...
It's not as though it takes persistence, strength, willingness to apply what they learned: not enough advice, however useful a trainer, it takes a strong cohesion of all people, voluntary or otherwise, which are part of an association.

It was held in the beautiful setting of the Grand Hotel Castrocaro the first edition of the Course Management and Decision Making for Fundraising, an executive training course. A course made with completely new material (see photo), and with his colleague and consultant Paul Celli (see photo), also played with group work (see photo). My invitation is for all participants to answer two questions:
- What is fundraising for you? (Even anonymously!)
- What we would need to improve the ethical fundraising to the nonprofit community of professionals!
We thank you for attending the course, look for your comments! (VM)
November 29, 2007 Dear Professor Melandri,
I want to first thank you for your teachings and its availability during the 2007 CAF. The CAF for me was a milestone for me to grow not only professionally but also human, I left a great legacy of knowledge to learn and apply the relationships between people who have brought the most diverse experiences of working and living in non-profit, strong motivation in pursuing this new and exciting journey, of friendships made in the pews of Caf but surely destined to grow stronger in the future ... The CAF has been for me ... all this injection of energy, confidence and desire to know Honestly ... I never thought at this stage of my life to make a change so radical and also challenging because I had to start from scratch, but I really realized how many steps and changes you make will lead to a passion for something ... passion in life is a powerful drive!
What can I say? I have no comment, except for a great good luck! For reasons of confidentiality the name of the participant is not public, but the "good news" should be said at all and for me this letter is "good news"! Good job to all. VM

As always, we grant you a look into my inbox. Here is a nice email, to which I answer, (I shall omit the name and some specifications) that comes to fundraising, the desire to do fundraising and difficulties encountered. This is true fundraising, not as easy as a picture of a brochure, a link a site, but the fundraising done by people for people, with effort, but also with such loads, energy (which also comes from the Advanced Training Course ... it says in the email below).
In your judgment. VM

Subject: Tips for fundraising
Dear Professor Melandri,
I am writing to ask for advice.
In Association where I work, as I had mentioned once before, you are making to create a foundation for participation in which converge the different actors of the territory in which we operate. Next to a cooperative association is already working on employment of type B.

And here they are my students of the Advanced Training Course in Techniques of Fund Raising ! is fierce class of 30 students who have just now finished the first part of the second edition of the CAF. We will meet again in September for another couple of lessons. Really a class interesting and relevant. Here is a photo of my students that I would ask of p resentarsi a comment (and if anything identifying itself: "I'm the guy with glasses in the front row ...") but also to write a sentence (a sentence or even a mention of its own) regarding fund raising, that choice (or all three):
- represents in his / her fund raising;
- is particularly important to better understand the fund raising;
- Describe the fund raising indirectly as fully as possible.
I am very curious to know the opinion of people on the fund raising for the first time face to fundraising. Good challenge (VM)
Ps And I put some of the attached email that I received in those days, of which I warmly thank the authors for the kind words expressed to the CAF . The merit of the success of the CSO, is a very cohesive and well-trained staff and a set of powers among the very best that we can put in place here at Forli. Thanks then to you and the staff of the CSO (Virginia Tarozzi, Simeon Camilla, Flavia Small, Gianni Solfrini), now in Forlì you are creating a true breeding ground of people who DO NOT go only to "school fundraising" but that develop their careers, they find work in fund raising. It is often enough to be an "expert" for training, writing a book, do some college lecture, do some consulting here and there. But I always try not to come within the category of "experts" to do but to think of quality training, with passion. I am convinced that the future will form the fundraiser also helps to improve the field of fundraising in Italy. The email I received from a student's course of advanced training in techniques of fundraising for nonprofit and public agencies , Forlì just started at the Faculty of Economics, Master in Fund Raising , email is an affectionate (too good!), of which I am happy and I share (with permission of the author). Thanks to the author if anyone else has similar thoughts (or even critical), so be it!
Gent. Prof. Melandri,
are one of the students who just started the training course in techniques of fundraising for nonprofit and public agencies . I am writing just to say that thanks to the enthusiasm and seriousness that she has transmitted during the first day of class I regained confidence in an institution like the university that I was deeply disappointed, which is why I left school. Attending her lecture Friday I want to study is back and finish my thesis soon.
